This cigar was very highly rated last year, and has a very pretty band. It made some top 25 lists so I am looking forward to seeing what it can do. The wrapper is very nice - dark brown and oily with minimal veins. Cut, lit, and drew superbly. Good volume of light tasting faint grey smoke. Tastes of, though faint, spices and caramel were present in the first puffs. Burn started going crooked almost immediately with severe canoeing. This required almost a full circumference, one-half inch touch up. The draw was barely affected. After correction burn remained straight throughout smoking. The flavors changed about an inch in, becoming melodic and a bit darker. Moderate background notes of hickory BBQ, leather, and wild herbs were present. After this early change in flavor profile it changed no further. I would consider this a competent smoke - slightly above average.
